Safe Street Visit - Saturday 29 July 2017

Please come and visit local police who will be conducting a Safe Street Visit in our area on Saturday.

They will discuss local crime trends and crime prevention tips.

     Date: Saturday 29 July 2017

     Time: 10.00 am - 11.00 am

     Place: Cnr Basnett and Rossett Streets (near Basnett Street shops)

In the meantime, here are a few tips:

HOME SECURITY

  • Be alert and report suspicious activity to Police
  • Secure doors when you are home and away
  • Don't leave keys in doors and windows
  • Contact Police and request a free Home Security Audit

MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Always lock doors and windows when your vehicle is unattended
  • Keep valuables out of sight ... including your GPS!
  • Secure your registration plates
  • Secure vehicle keys, even when at home

PERSONAL SAFETY

  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Be aware that wearing headphones or using mobile phones can reduce your awareness
  • Be confident, assertive and trust your instincts
  • Don't feel pressured by door to door traders or telemarketers
  • Be aware of current scams
